Done with Summer!

Dear Summer,
I am done with you...

I am ready to move on to my favorite time of year and forget all about this awful heat!  I am ready for rainy days, apple cider, pumpkin candles, fall decor, sweat pants, Christmas movies... should I go on, because I really could keep going!

So what do you do when you are sick of summer and stuck inside because your kids have colds (which having a cold in the summer is so lame by the way), you craft of course! Thanks to Pinterest I have had fall/ Halloween crafts on the brain so I decided it was time to begin.

This is just the start but this is what I have so far.

Materials:

Fame (I already had this one laying around)

Halloween scrapbook paper
Halloween silhouettes (I just Googled these)

All you have to do is cut out the silhouettes and glue them to the paper. Once glued, frame!

Materials:

14" wreath form
3 yds tulle (I wanted black but they didn't have any, so orange it was)
cardboard
Halloween scrapbook paper
ribbon

Cut tulle into stripes and tie around the form until it looks full. Cut letters out of cardboard and Mod Podge the scrapbook paper to the letters. Attach ribbon to hang!

** Not sure the wreath is done however... The black flowers I made didn't turn out but I may try again...

Look at my Halloween cuties from last year!!

I am going to print some of this pics from last Halloween and use them with my other Halloween decorations. May switch them out the following year or I just might keep adding to them, a fun way to remember!

So, Happy Fall (even though it is Aug and I am sweating while I am typing this). I hope you find some happiness as I did while pretending that fall is here.

Till next time!

Another favorite!

Madi & Abby are girls after my own heart! This week we have a new favorite and a new word... "SHOES"!

Their Grammy bought them Jellies this weekend and I haven't been able to get them off their feet since! Every time we put them on they run around the house and dance. Heaven forbid a shoe were to fall off! If so they run to me saying "shoe, SHOE" until I put it back on their foot.

They crack me up! I can't wait for all the shoe shopping I will be doing my my sweet little girls in the future. It makes me remember all the fabulous shopping trips I have had with my mom, some wonderful memories!

Our favorites at 14 months!

It is hard to believe that my baby girls are 14 months old already, well almost 15 months really. I thought it would  be fun to document their current favorite things!

# 1 Talking

I think it is safe to say that Will should be concerned about our phone bill in the years to come!

Words we are saying...

Mama                           Abby Only:                   Madi Only:
Dada                             baby                               no :( haha
Hi                                  apple
Uh Oh                           Abby
night night
bye
ball
sissy
cracker
water
bath

#2 Bath time!

We can't say bath unless we really mean it around here. They run straight to the gate and to the bathroom. They have a great time until mean old mommy has to wash their hair. Somehow bath isn't as fun once I have to rinse the soap out.

#3 Daddy!

This happens to be one of my favorites as well! It so cute to watch the girl's faces light up when Will comes home from work. They run with arms open saying "dada, dada"!

So in love with my family!

I hope everyone has a fun St. Patrick's Day! We are going to have corned beef at Grammy and Papa's house.

Who says you have to be Irish to celebrate! :)

Busy weekend: Hutch & Backyard

This weekend Will and I were determined to get some of the things done that have been on the to-do list for a long time. We took advantage of the beautiful weather and had a very productive weekend!

First off: the yard! The girls love to be outside, but the back yard hasn't been available to them because of our dog. On Thurs. I was out in the front yard with the girls and Madison grabbed a rose bush just as Abby was running in the street.  I realized that enough is enough. So, Will mowed the grassed and we picked up all the doggie landmines in order to make a clean and safe place for the girls to be. We also fenced off part of the yard for the dog so now everyone has a place to be.

I bought the girls so outdoor toys and they had a blast in their new play space. Time well spent!

 Hutch before & afters:

Took the hutch aapart

Took off all the hardware

Painted everything

roughed up the edges

used spray adhesive to attach fabric to the back panel

New hardware

Thanks Hobby Lobby!

Final product, love it!

All filled!

Had so much fun working on this and I am really happy with the way it turned out!

Valentine's Day... a little late!

Spent Valentine's Day with my sweet kiddos! In the evening I surprised Will with dinner at home while my parents watched the girls. It was so nice to  have a quiet house and hot meal. Hope you all had a great day too!

My sweet little Valentines!

Craft time!

There is something you should know about me...

I LOVE holidays! It doesn't matter what they, it is a excuse to be festive, decorate, and just have some extra fun! Holidays bring family and friends together and most importantly, it means that I get to eat!

As you know Valentine's Day is 4 days away. It isn't necessarily my favorite holiday because of the mushy love stuff, but rather the fun decorating I get to do. There is something about the colors of V-day that makes me so happy. So where am I going with this??

I wanted something festive for my front door but I didn't want to spend a lot of money. So, thanks to the help of Pintrest this is what I came up with!

Clothes Pin Valentine's Day Wreath
I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!

Tip: Have you ever wanted to re-use a ribbon but it was wrinkled or kinked from where it was previously tied? Well, you may just find that your flat iron may have a new purpose!

Rough week...

As so many of you know and have experienced, the flu has been running ramped and it finally caught up to us. It started a week ago with Abby, then by Friday afternoon Madi had it, and then finally Will and I got it by Sat night. There is nothing worse than watching your kids be sick.

Having twins can be challenging but can I just say, sick or teething twins is just out of control. I am grateful that the girls weren't sick at the same time however, there was one point were I was sitting on the couch with Madison (she would not let me put her down) and Abby was running around the house (fully recovered at this point) and wanted my full attention. I realized that it was about time for her lunch so i decided that I needed to try to put Madi down so I could tend to Abby. Just as I was about to get up Madison throws up all over me.

By the time I got Madison and myself cleaned up Abby is so upset that she has been "ignored" up to this point. I have no choice but to leave Madi on the floor with a towel hoping that my carpet is not the next victim, and go to the kitchen to make lunch. All the while my stomach churning at the thought that I most likely am next. Mind you this is just a 30 min glimpse into my long week.

I am happy to say that we have all made a full recovery... well except for the 4 teeth coming in and mom waking up with her monthly blessing this morning. Such is life and it most go on!

Glad to have my sweet girls back!

I'm trying again...

I must be crazy, but I think I am going to try the blog thing again. As if I don't have enough going on already I think it is important to document "it" along the way. What is "it" you ask? "It" is our ups, downs, loud, messy, crazy, hectic, wonderful, (did i mention messy), blessed life.

The truth is, I have the most amazing husband and the two most beautiful girls on the planet (I wouldn't recommend trying to dispute it). God has given me more than I could ever have hoped for and to Him I am grateful.

Okay enough mushy for now.

I must have a slight disclaimer. I am a terrible speller and I am very sensitive about it, so please be patient and kind with me. Also, this blogger sight and I don't see eye to eye very often and I refuse to believe that it has anything to so with my computer skills. Therefore, it you ever see something in the wrong place, a color that doesn't match, or something not lined up right, IT ISN'T MY FAULT!

Alright, as long as everyone is good with theses terms and conditions I think I am prepare for this journey with you. I think to end each blog entry I will leave you with a "Mommy Tip" or "Mommy Thought".  I am NOT any kind of expert but I will share with you what I have learned, the good, the bad, the funny, or ugly.

 Thought for the day:

Why is it that my children love to poop right after I change their diaper??

Until next time friends...
